A quick shout out for those of you living in or near Geelong who might be interested to support this small not-for-profit based in Geelong. The foundation is dedicated to advancing health and education in Vanuatu and was launched in 2012 in memory of Melanie Jewson who lost her life in a car accident in 2004. Her brother Andre writes:
"We pride ourselves on our ethical, needs-based donation strategies, our partnerships with health and education professionals, government departments, hospitals and schools. Every project funded is driven by the self-identified needs of the staff of the school or hospital in question, as well as the Vanuatuan Government. Currently we have over $50,000 worth of medical equipment packed up ready to ship to Vila Central and Lolowai Hospitals.
This year our foundation turns 10 and so we are planning a celebratory/fundraising event at Provenance Winery, Fyansford from 2-5pm on Sunday 30 October. Celebrating 10 Years of Impact promises to be an exceptional event. The afternoon will include canapés, live music and a welcome drink in beautiful surrounds alongside guest speaker Rev. Tim Costello AO and other special guests, including Deputy Prime Minister and MJF Patron Richard Marles MP and Dr. Sereana Natuman, Head of the Medical Department at Vila Central Hospital. We’re aiming to raise over $25,000 for health and education in Vanuatu. Emily Donoghue (from GAC) is on our organising team and has been doing a wonderful job.
You can purchase tickets this week to take advantage of our special early bird pricing. If you're unable to attend, a tax-deductible donation would of course be greatly appreciated."
